Welcome to Whitney Center, where opportunity, hospitality and value live as one.
This new phase of your life is what we often call “active-because-I-want-to-be.” Residents are engaged – in volunteering, as well as cultural, business and educational pursuits. Many are still working, pursuing their passion. And everyone participates in decisions being made.
Feel the hospitality whether you’re dining, engaging in an activity or simply relaxing at home. This is a deep, person-centered hospitality that makes living at Whitney Center so special.
Hamden is central to shopping, museums, galleries, concerts, beaches, snow and skiing, collegiate sports, continuing education and much more. And while at Whitney Center you’ll find comfort in Life Care for ongoing healthcare, as well as the financial stability of the ownership and the range of apartment home options. There’s a true sense of value that frees you to do whatever you’d like.
I am a happy resident of Whitney Center. What contributes to my satisfaction in living here? The food! Frequent gourmet dishes and nutritious, delicious soups are offered in the elegant Dining Room. If you prefer a simpler meal at times, that too is offered and the menus detail all that as well. If you have special needs relating to food, the dining management can discuss that with you and make you comfortable in your choices. A recent delightful addition to Whitney Center is the Bistro. There is freedom to dine in a casual setting, to do take-out when you’re on the go, seven days a week daily from 7 am to 7 pm in the evening. A great variety of foods offered, stir-fry while you watch, a pizza oven, coffee shop, dessert bar, a grill, salads and soups, meats, deli, fish, and for those residents who want to eat between meals, it’s all in the Bistro.- Frances Chartoff
