Welcome to Whitney Center, where opportunity, hospitality and value live as one.
This new phase of your life is what we often call “active-because-I-want-to-be.” Residents are engaged – in volunteering, as well as cultural, business and educational pursuits. Many are still working, pursuing their passion. And everyone participates in decisions being made.
Feel the hospitality whether you’re dining, engaging in an activity or simply relaxing at home. This is a deep, person-centered hospitality that makes living at Whitney Center so special.
Hamden is central to shopping, museums, galleries, concerts, beaches, snow and skiing, collegiate sports, continuing education and much more. And while at Whitney Center you’ll find comfort in Life Care for ongoing healthcare, as well as the financial stability of the ownership and the range of apartment home options. There’s a true sense of value that frees you to do whatever you’d like.
Years ago, after a long time in New Haven, we moved to Washington, D.C. Upon Herb’s retirement, we returned to New Haven because we wanted to be in a place with few of the hassles of a huge metropolitan area but with many of its benefits—an abundance of cultural resources, entertainment options, first-rate medical facilities, ready access to major cities when the spirit moves us and ease of movement in the local environment, among others. We never regretted our decision! Consequently, when it seemed prudent to consider transition to a Life Care are community, we were delighted to have Whitney Center at hand. We’re able to continue taking advantage of all that the New Haven area offers while enjoying the company of similarly inclined residents and the comfort and security provided by a caring, considerate and conscientious staff.- Herb and Ruth Kaufman
